RAD for Women - Officer Rachel Mead

The Rape Aggression Defense System for women is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. The RAD System is a comprehensive course for women which begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, and progresses to the basics of hands-on defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program. Our courses are taught by Rachel Mead a certified RAD instructor and provide you with a workbook/reference manual. We educate women about “The Flight or Fight Syndrome”, while showing them that enhancing their options of physical defense is not only prudent, but necessary, if natural resistance is to be effective. We provide these effective options by teaching women to take an active role in their own self-defense and psychological well-being. Ten Reasons Why RAD System is on the Cutting Edge of Self-Defense Training Has established the standard for female self-defense programs. Offers no-nonsense, practical techniques of defense. Researched the effects of “The Fight or Flight Syndrome”. Offers advanced self-defense courses that build upon the physical defense system. Provides realistic and dynamic hands-on training. Provides students with a comprehensive Reference Manual. Certified instructors from the community. Has a litigation defense policy. Offers state of the art programs at reasonable rates. Every student receives a lifetime membership policy.

Meet the Instructor -  Rachel Mead has been a law enforcement officer for 10 years. 8 years with the Groton Dunstable School District as the school officer.

This is a great class to break that plateau, mix up your workouts and get the results you have been wanting!

CORE Pilates! The second part of the class will work your core with Pilates, for better posture, a flatter tummy and stronger backs! Find your six pack! Don’t miss this dynamic combination! Good health tips for exercise, nutrition and general wellness will be shared every week! Be ready to have fun!  This class is perfect for the first time exerciser to the fitness enthusiast! General Information 

  • No class during school vacation weeks

  • Participants should bring a set of 5lb. & or 8lb. weights, a mat and water. 

  • Instructor: Susan Robbins brings 30+ years of experience to the class and is ACE. And CPR certified.

Fitness and Exercise Classes

Fitness: TAE KWON DO

Tues., Classes Ongoing; 6:45 - 8:45 pm; 1 Hour and 2 Hour Classes Available

Location: Classes are held in the Florence Roche School Gym, Groton, Ma

Cost: $60 for 1 person/$80 for for two/$90 for three, per month; paid directly to instructor.

This club teaches traditional Tae Kwon Do in a non-contact class. Students learn forms or Katas, techniques, sparring, and self defense in each class. This is a family oriented club; anyone from first grade up is welcome.

Coordinator: Master DON ROTA and Master CARL GIROUARD.
Both instructors have 20+ years’ experience.
